Resize images accurately without unwanted distortion

Resize by pixels or percentage

Enter exact width and height values or scale the original image by percentage.

Keep the original aspect ratio

Lock proportions so changing one dimension updates the other and avoids stretching.

Prepare images for web and uploads

Create practical dimensions for websites, forms, email and social sharing directly in your browser.

Set dimensions without changing proportions

Pixels sets a target size; Percent scales each source image.

Leave one pixel dimension empty

With Keep aspect ratio enabled, enter width or height and leave the other blank. LoveMyFiles calculates the missing dimension. If you enter both, the selected fit mode determines the framing.

Use one percentage value

In Percent mode, the width value is used as the scale, or height if width is empty. Enter 50 for half the source width and height; separate percentages are not applied.

Choose how the image fits the canvas

Different target proportions can add margins, remove edges or distort the image.

Fit inside keeps the whole image

Fit inside preserves proportions with white space where needed. With enlargement allowed, Fill and crop trims centrally to fill the target; check details near the edges.

Stretch can distort the subject

Stretch maps the source directly to both entered dimensions. Faces and circles can look wider or taller; choose Fit inside or Fill and crop to preserve their proportions.

Check enlargement and upload size

Pixel dimensions and upload size are different checks.

Keep smaller originals from being upscaled

Use Fit inside with Do not enlarge smaller images enabled. The picture can remain smaller than the output canvas. Fill and crop or Stretch can still upscale when one target dimension grows.

Check bytes after resizing

If the resized file exceeds an upload byte limit, compress that copy. Compare its saved size before submitting it; fewer pixels do not guarantee the required allowance.

Frequently asked questions

How can I preserve the image proportions?

Keep aspect ratio enabled and leave either width or height empty so the other dimension is calculated from the original image. Resizing changes pixel dimensions, not just file size. Enlarging a small source cannot restore missing detail; start with the largest original you have and check the downloaded result at its intended display size.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

These edits run on your device in the browser, so the image is not uploaded to our processing server. The browser reads the selected file and creates a new downloadable copy without overwriting the original. Available memory and format support depend on your browser; very large or unsupported files may need a different tool. This does not mean the website makes no network requests for its normal assets.
