Split a PDF online by selecting pages or entering page ranges. Extract the pages you need into one PDF or create separate PDF files securely.
Choose individual pages visually or enter precise ranges to create the PDF output you need.
Preview the document, select the required pages, and create one new PDF containing only that selection.
Enter ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-10. Each range becomes a separate PDF and multiple results are packaged together for download.
Review page thumbnails, select all pages or clear the selection, and confirm the summary before starting the split.
Extracting a few pages and dividing a document into separate files are different tasks. Decide what you want to download before selecting pages.
Use page selection when you need one smaller PDF containing only the pages you choose. This is useful for sending an excerpt from a report without its cover, appendices or unrelated chapters. Review the selected thumbnails before submitting.
Enter ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-10 to make separate documents from those groups. Several generated PDFs are packaged in a ZIP download. Extract the archive on your device before opening or sharing the individual files.
Choose the separate-page mode when each page should become its own PDF. The download is a ZIP containing the generated PDFs, even if that mode produces just one file. This differs from selecting several pages for one combined excerpt.
A report may display page 1 after a cover and contents page. Select by the page positions shown in the tool, not by numbers printed inside the document. Compare the thumbnails with the source PDF to avoid leaving out the start of a chapter.
Splitting creates new files; it does not replace your local source document. Download the output and check its page count and opening page before sending it. Keep the original if you may need omitted pages later.
Select a PDF in a modern desktop or mobile browser. The file is uploaded for server processing, so an internet connection is needed. Guest files expire after 5 minutes and signed-in free-account files after 2 hours; download the result before expiry.
Share the relevant material, not an entire document by default. Check that your excerpt still includes the context its reader needs.
Include the chapter introduction, its tables and any referenced appendix pages. A chart without its units or explanatory notes can be misleading. If the relevant pages live in different documents, extract each part first and merge the results.
Merge extracted PDFsIdentify where each invoice starts and ends, including its continuation pages. Use a range for each complete invoice rather than splitting every page blindly. Extraction does not perform OCR: a scanned invoice remains image-based in the new PDF.
Check the recipient's list of required documents and select the matching pages. Excluding unrequested records reduces unnecessary sharing. Inspect every output before submitting; removing pages is not the same as redacting private details on a page you keep.
A successful download is only the first check. Confirm that the packaging, selection and document content match your intended result.
A ZIP is the container for multiple output PDFs or separate-page output. Unzip it to access the documents inside. To get a single PDF excerpt instead, use selected-page extraction rather than a mode that generates separate documents.
Splitting selects content; it is not a replacement for a page organizer. Use Organize PDF to reorder pages or remove a duplicate from the resulting document. Open the revised file afterwards to check that its sequence is correct.
Reorder PDF pagesA few high-resolution scanned pages can still create a large PDF. Extracting fewer pages does not promise a particular file size. If the recipient has an upload limit, compress the excerpt and then check small text and diagrams for readability.
