Flatten PDF forms and annotations
Make form fields and annotations part of the page, or create an image-only PDF when a destination requires it.
What changes
Forms and annotations
The forms mode uses the server PDF engine to bake fields and annotations into page content. The output is checked again for remaining fields and annotations. Keep the original if you may need to edit those values later.
Entire page as image
The image-only mode renders each page at the selected resolution and places the image in a new PDF page of the same size. It removes selectable text. Use it only when a receiver specifically needs flat pages.
Before processing
Password-protected and signed PDFs are rejected. The form mode accepts up to 200 pages; image-only mode accepts up to 30 pages and may reject unusually large pages at high resolution. Your original is not changed.
Common questions
Will text remain selectable?
In forms and annotations mode, existing page text remains selectable. In image-only mode, the page is rasterized and text selection is lost.
Can I edit a flattened form later?
Not as a form field in the flattened copy. Keep the original form if you need to change answers later.
Why does a signed PDF fail?
Changing the document can invalidate an existing signature, so this tool rejects PDFs with signature fields.
