Remove excess margins around scanned pages, receipts, forms, or exported documents while keeping the useful content visible.
Review each page thumbnail, drag the crop box into position, or enter top, right, bottom, and left margins for a repeatable adjustment.
The cropped output is created as a new PDF, so you can review the result before sharing while the original file remains unchanged.
Crop PDF reduces the visible page area on selected pages. Set the top, bottom, left and right crop amounts according to the content you need to keep.
Upload the PDF and inspect its thumbnails. Look for page numbers, footnotes, signatures and diagram labels near the edges. Start with a modest crop rather than removing a large border at once.
Crop amounts are percentages of each page's width or height, not fixed millimeters. The same percentage can remove different amounts from different page sizes. Select only pages with compatible margins, then review the downloaded result.
Cropping is useful for excess borders, but it does not improve the detail of the content inside them.
A wide white border can make the document content appear small when fitted to a screen. Trim only the unused area. A blurry scan stays blurry, and cropping does not straighten camera perspective or recognize scanned text.
Turn sideways pages upright first so left, right, top and bottom match the intended reading direction. Then crop the corrected copy. Check every selected page when the source contains both portrait and landscape material.
Rotate PDF pages before croppingThe tool places imported page content on a smaller output page. Content outside its visible boundary must not be treated as permanently erased.
Do not crop an account number or private note out of view and assume it is unrecoverable. When information must be removed, use the redaction workflow and check its output rather than relying on a smaller page boundary.
Read the PDF redaction guidanceOpen the cropped PDF and verify all selected pages, especially footers and charts. Unselected pages remain in the document at their original size. If you need to remove entire pages rather than their borders, use Organize PDF.
